As a Software Engineer at Adcombi you are responsible for developing new tools, which are immediately used by international advertisers and media companies. You do this together with a SCRUM team of four experienced developers, a UX designer, a scrum master and a product owner.
Your daily tasks include writing tests, reviewing your colleagues’ code and creating new features for a variety of apps and services. You primarily work with Ruby on Rails, PostgreSQL and JS. You know your way around Git and REST-ful APIs, and you don’t shy away from the DevOps side of things either.

This role will be based in our Head offices in Amsterdam, The Netherlands. We’ve fully adapted to working remotely, but we do think it’s good to share ideas in person and brainstorm on the same whiteboard together from time to time.

YOUR PROFILE

We’re looking for a highly motivated Full Stack Engineer that is eager and a fast learner. We don’t expect you to hit the ground running but we believe that you’ll fit right in as long as you have a curious mindset and a solid base of programming knowledge.

You have an extensive track record of working with Rails and you’re excited about creating great user experiences and bringing features to life.

You know how to work autonomously and get excited about learning new skills and taking ownership of your work. Continuous deployment is important to you and you see things through to the end, from the positioning of a checkbox, utilising MVC patterns, writing automated tests all the way to deployment.

THE RESPONSIBILITIES

• Building new features and fixing bugs
• Writing tests and documentation
• Reviewing peers’ code
• Planing work via SCRUM meetings
• Maintaining infrastructure
• Onboarding new developers, attending knowledge transfer sessions
• Finding and assessing potential new dev colleagues (going over technical assignments)

RESPONSABILITIES

• You have 3+ years of experience with Ruby on Rails as a Full Stack Engineer
• Comfortable with JavaScript
• Familiar with back-end principles and an interest in architecture
• Experience as an API producer
• Uphold best practices in engineering, security, and design
• Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, AWS, CI/CD a bonus
